2D or 3D? Here's the difference
Every crystal starts with this one choice. Both are beautiful — they simply suit different photos and different crystals.
2D engraving
A flat, finely detailed image engraved on a single plane inside the crystal.

The one rule to remember
A 2D photo can be engraved in any crystal. A 3D photo needs one of our deeper crystals — because the 3D effect needs depth to live in.

No surprises — just a little styling know-how. Here's what makes an engraved crystal so striking.
Frosted white, inside clear crystal
The laser creates thousands of microscopic points that catch the light, so every engraving appears in elegant frosted white — your photo drawn in light, sealed in glass.
It loves a dark backdrop
Against a dark shelf, a deep-coloured wall or an evening window, the white engraving stands out in gorgeous contrast. The darker the setting, the more it shines.
Stunning on an LED base
Set your crystal on one of our optional LED-lit bases and the engraving glows softly from below — the closest thing to magic we know.
Photo tips for a flawless crystal
Great crystals start with great photos. A few seconds of choosing well makes all the difference.
For the best result
- A clear, high-resolution photo
- Good lighting, with faces clearly visible
- A simple background — especially important for 3D
- Your subject as the clear focus of the frame
Try to avoid
- Blurry or low-resolution images
- Very dark or poorly lit photos
- Busy backgrounds (for 3D engravings)
- Many overlapping people in one small crystal
And relax — a real person reviews every photo before engraving. If something about yours won't look its best, we'll reach out before we engrave a thing.
